🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely 👋 Vicki here!

🎙💖 I’m so excited for you to listen to this weeks episode as I got to interview Merilyn Kesküla-Drummond.

Merilyn is a mentor, speaker, entrepreneur and the founder of Mylky Moon Lab

After experiencing almost constant anxiety and bouts of burn-out over the years in her career in the corporate world and in the fashion industry, Merilyn started to explore cycles within and around her and re-ignited her love for astrology. She founded Mylky Moon Lab in 2016, hosting workshops in the likes of Zurich, London, Milan, and Copenhagen. Her first book on Moon Power will be published by Octopus in Spring 2020 (already can’t wait to read this!)

I’ve been wanting someone to come onto the podcast for ages to talk about the female cycle, moon cycles and cyclical living and this conversation with Merilyn offered this and so much more!

We talked about:

✨ Cyclical living and what it means to live in alignment with the female cycle and moon cycles

✨ How the female cycles and moon cycles affects us and how we can use these cycles as our own personal calendars (including the best time to have an important meeting, ask for a payrise, go on a date, have brave conversations and more)

✨ A new approach to productivity that helps us to work smarter and not harder

✨ How we can balance the feminine and masculine energies inside of us

✨ Body wisdom and the power of movement and dance

✨ Plus so much more!

If you’d like to find out more about Meriyln and how to work with her then head over here. And Merilyn has kindly offered a special discount on sessions for Project Love listeners which can be accessed over here (simply use the code PROJECTLOVE for 22% off. Valid until February 28th 2020).

I hope you enjoy the episode!

EP 83: Unlocking the power of your voice with Reverend Gail Love-Schock

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely! Vicki here 👋

I have such a gorgeous podcast episode for you as I got to interview my greatest teacher and mentor, Reverend Gail Love Schock.

Gail is an Interfaith Reverend and the world’s first and only Energy Transformation Strategist. She has helped thousands of people to move through radical change, moving closer to love and celebration through meditation, ceremony, ritual, mentorship, and retreats.

Gail’s ministry focuses on the taboo subjects of life, including sex, money, and death, all of which, enable people to live a rich, vibrant and meaningful life today. Gail is accredited by One Spirit Interfaith Foundation and she has been featured in global outlets such as The Sunday Times, New York Post, The Sunday Post, and Psychologies.

I first met Gail back in 2016 when I was experiencing a lot of growth and expansion in my life. And over the years, Gail has been a constant source of inspiration and wisdom and an illuminating presence of love. I recently attended a workshop of Gail’s, called ‘Unlocking the power of your voice’ and it was so fascinating, I knew we needed to get her onto the podcast to explore this topic further.

We talked about:

  • Unlocking the power of you and your voice

  • Gail’s own journey to voice freedom

  • What it means to live a 5 star life

  • Conscious relationships and how to ask for what you want and need

  • The 4 levels of consciousness (which totally blew my mind 🤯)

  • Leadership, greatness and The Rock (yes the former wrestler)

  • And so so much more!

I loved this conversation, I hope you enjoy it too!

To find out more about Gail, head on over to her website here and find her on Instagram here. And if you are thinking about booking a session with Gail then she is offering a special discount on her 2.5 hour mega sessions for Project Love listeners. Simply head over here to book!

I hope you enjoy the episode 💕

EP 82: The disease to please - how to break those people pleasing habits - with Kate Taylor

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi guys, Selina here this week 👋

Wasn’t last week’s podcast great when Vicki was joined by Jo Westwood to talk about co-dependency?! Wow, I really saw how co-dependency runs in my family, how I had a very destructive co-dependent relationship in my twenties and how I still have a bit of a tendency towards co-dependent behaviour today. Fascinating!

This week’s topic is a great follow on from that episode, as this week we're looking at people pleasing! I had the wonderful Kate Taylor in the studio with me talking about the disease to please! Why so many of us are brought up with a chronic people pleasing tendency, how that can hold us back and what to do about it.

To find more about Kate, her life and business coaching and her incredible Practical Magic Activation Deck go to https://www.katetaylor.co/

Now you’ll also hear me at the start of the episode making a very exciting announcement (which you will have heard if you’ve been hanging out with us on Instagram): I’m doing an audio series with a well known brand (can’t name them just yet) all about career change. The series will follow the coaching journey of 6 people being coached by me.

And so I’m looking for those 6 people! You’ll get coached for free in exchange for being on the series which goes public in March next year.

To find out more and how to apply, go to http://www.selinabarker.com/podcastproject

Now hit play and feel the liberation of releasing those people pleasing habits!

EP 81: Everything is Figureoutable

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

A couple of weeks ago we went to see the absolutely brilliant Marie Forleo at her event in London, celebrating her new book ‘Everything is Figureoutable’.

If you saw our instagram stories you’ll know that we were like the ultimate fan girls. Giddy with excitement!

Why? Because Marie Forleo is someone who we have followed and admired for years. She is an unwavering example of someone who brings so much love and joy into her work. And she believes, like us, that our careers can be the source of so much joy, love and fulfilment in our lives and that anything is possible if you allow yourself to dream it and believe in it.

Being at the event and hearing her share the ‘Everything is Figureoutable’ philosophy really had us reflecting on all the times in life where we’ve gone after a dream, not having a clue of HOW we were going to make it happen, but committing to it none-the-less. And so we wanted to dedicate an episode to diving deep into the ‘Everything is Figureoutable’ philosophy and share how we’ve used this approach in our coaching and in our own lives and careers to follow our dreams, even when we had no idea of HOW we were going to do it.

So if you have a dream that you’d love to go after but you’re not sure how to make it happen, then this one is for you!

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hello! 👋 Vicki here, with a brand new episode for you 🤗

This week I had the pleasure of speaking to Jo Westwood all about the topic of codependency and what it means to live Lovingly Fierce.

And wow, what an interesting conversation it was!

Jo is a life coach and author, who is known for her straightforward, down to earth approach in helping you to improve your life. And she specialises in helping women to escape from codependency, reclaim their lives with confidence and live Lovingly Fierce.

In this episode, we explore what codependency is and how it can show up in our relationships (from our friendships and work relationships to our family and romantic relationships), how it impacts us and what a recovery journey can look like. This is such an important topic and one that I don’t think is being talked about enough.

I learnt so much from Jo through this conversation and it’s certainly one I would like to keep talking about in future episodes. If this conversation resonated with you and if you’d like to go deeper into this topic then Jo has very kindly shared some resources that can support you.

Here they are below:

EP 79: The day I married myself - with Donna Lancaster

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

It’s Selina here 👋and oh I’m so excited for you to listen to today’s episode. It is with my greatest guide and teacher in life, Donna Lancaster - co-founder and facilitator of the incredible Bridge Retreat who is honestly the wisest, most powerful, loving and humble healer and transformational therapist I have ever met, so ANY conversation with her is going to be food for the soul, but this one in particular really inspired me (and you’ll hear why) because we were talking about the day, two years ago that Donna married herself. On her 50th birthday. With her best friend there as her witness.

SHE MARRIED HERSELF.

The ultimate act of self-love 😍😍😍

And so we talked about it all: what made her want to do it, what the ceremony was like, the vows and commitments she made to herself, how she knew a lot of people would roll their eyes at it and above all the difference it has made to her and the relationship with herself since saying ‘I do’.

As well as self marriage we talked about going through deep transformation in life, the suffering that is a necessary part of our development and growth and how to navigate those times of suffering so that you can get through to the other side where you’ll find peace, love, humility and all the good stuff.

We talked about why it is NOT in the interests of a capitalist society for us to love ourselves.

And of course we talked about witches 😉

So hit play, open your heart and ENJOY!

x Selina

EP 76: Real love story interview with Alexandra Gill

Hello! Vicki here, with a gorgeous podcast episode for you 🤗

Today’s episode is a real love story interview with Alexandra Gill, who reflects on her journey of going from someone who was single for her whole adult life (in her words) and thinking that a relationship just wasn’t going to happen for her, to going through the journey of getting ready for love and marrying her best friend (her wedding was just last month).

This is such a special story, I was moved to tears on a number of occasions because I know the courage that it takes to open your heart, to trust and to commit to love. Particularly when you have lost faith in love, which is where Alex was back in 2016.

This is a story of love, hope and courage and I can’t wait for you to listen to it 💕

You can have a listen to the episode above or over on Apple Podcast or Spotify.

And if are interested in going on your own journey of getting ready for love then I’m so happy to announce that I have just opened up the doors to new love coaching clients for the Autumn season and I have a handful of spots for you to work with me 1:1.

The Get Ready for Love coaching programme is my absolute heart and soul and it would be an honour to work with you if you’re feeling the call. If you are and you’re ready for the journey of transformation then I would love to hear from you.

Simply head over here for all of the details and how to get in touch.

I hope you enjoy the podcast!

Self-celebration and creating a career you love with Sarah Powell

It’s Selina here 👋with this week’s podcast episode. And I cannot wait for you to hit play on this one, because I am joined by the Queen of Self-Celebration and all round joyous creature: Sarah Powell.

I have head-over-heels fallen in love with Sarah via her instagram stories (if you are on instagram and you don’t yet follow Sarah Powell on @thissarahpowell then go and do so immediately). She is hilarious, courageous, loving and inspiring.

She is one of those people that has created a career that is a total expression of who she is and what she loves in life.

She is a celebrant, founder of Celebrate Yourself (the first Celebrate Yourself Live event recently sold out in just 4 hours!), she is co-host of not one, but two hugely successful podcasts - Jules and Sarah and Wobble - both of which she does with her co-host Jules von Hep and she has a rapidly growing instagram community that she pours love into every day.

And yet just a few years ago Sarah was stuck in what she calls ‘the wilderness’ - that no-man’s land of not knowing what you want to do with your life and career, where you’re feeling totally lost and afraid that you’ll never figure it out. The place where everyone (yes everyone) begins their career change journey (or any big journey of transformation for that matter).

And so we talked about the power of self-celebration, finding humour in the mundane and how Sarah made her way out of the ‘wilderness’ to create a career that makes her heart sing and brings joy into the world.

This is such an inspiring episode and one that I guarantee will put a smile on your face!

Look at how much we were grinning by the end of it!

And if you felt like I was speaking to YOU at the start of the episode and you know that it is time for you to make your career change happen, then I would love to hear from you.

I am opening the doors to my 3 month 1:1 Career Change Coaching programme this month and as always will only be taking on a handful of clients.

And I would love for one of those clients to be YOU this time.

So if you’re ready to take the leap, come and book yourself in for a discovery call!

Let’s do this!

After taking a Summer break, WE ARE NOW BACK on the podcast and we have a brand new season of episodes lined up for you!

This week we are back with a bang as we discuss the ever so juicy topic of upper limiting and how we can get in the way of living a life that we love.

💕 You can have a listen to the episode above or over on Apple Podcast or Spotify.

And listen right to the end as we reveal a big surprise celebration 🎉 something we have been working on behind the scenes and we hadn’t been able to share.. until now! 💃🏻

EP 73: A powerful conversation about race, racism and white privilege with Nova Reid

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on Apple Podcast (iTunes) and Spotify.

Selina here and I am SOOOO excited for you to listen to the podcast episode we have for you today.

I truly believe is one of the most important podcast episodes I have ever recorded.

I was joined by the amazing Nova Reid to dive deep into conversation about race, white privilege and what I can do as a white woman to play a proactive role in dismantling racism.

Nova Reid is a diversity campaigner, anti-racism educator and founder of Nu Bride and is passionate about helping people push through fear, lead by example and be the change they want to see in the world. And I am completely in love and in awe of her. Through her work she is hit by online racist attacks on a daily basis and yet she continues to meet the world with love, courage and an unwavering belief that we CAN be the change.

I’ve been doing Nova’s ‘White Privilege’ anti-racism course since December and I have found it to be SUCH a powerful course. I once felt totally powerless when it came to racism and inequality. I had no idea what, as a white person, I could do or was supposed to do.

Now with this course I know exactly what I can do. Nova has given me the tools and guidance to help me do real work. And wow, is the work deep and powerful.

I am now full of hope and excitement at what can happen if more and more white people stand up and do this work too. Which is what this episode is all about.

I can’t wait for you to tune in!

And if you are white, my invitation to you is to come and do Nova’s ‘White Privilege’ course. Let’s do this work together! And Nova, being the generous beauty that she is, is offering Project Love listeners a 15% discount if you sign up before 13th July.

EP 72: It’s time to hit pause, check-in and reflect ✨ How have the last 3 months of the year been for YOU?

As we reach the half-way point of 2019 (yes, really, it goes so fast doesn’t it?), it’s time to check-in and see how you’re doing and how the last 3 months have been for you?

Back in March, we made a commitment to organise a collective ‘HIT PAUSE’ every quarter, so we can each check-in with ourselves, review how the last 3 months have gone and review how our commitments have come along and now it is time for our next quarterly review!

And so on today’s Project Love podcast we are inviting you to join us for the second quarterly check-in of 2019 ✨

Grab your Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019 journal (if you have one) and join us as we reflect on the past 3 months and share the progress that we’ve made and the lessons that we’ve learnt along the way. If you don’t have a Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019 journal then you can simply write down the questions as we go through them and do it with us 😍

And if you’re feeling stuck in resistance around your commitments then you are not alone. We’re all in this together and there are always lessons to be found in the commitments that actually dropped off the list (which we talk all about in the podcast)

We hope you enjoy the episode!

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on Apple Podcast (iTunes) and Spotify.

EP: 71 Real love story interview with Lauren Leopold (Vicki’s former client!)

Vicki here! I have the most beautiful and inspiring real love story podcast for you today in celebration of me opening the doors to working with new love coaching clients this Summer. It’s really exciting to announce this to you for the first time in 3 years (where there has been a waiting list for love coaching since 2016!).

Tune in to listen to this weeks’ episode where you’ll hear Lauren’s beautiful love story and journey of self love and transformation.

Lauren wrote to me back in 2015 when her self esteem and confidence were at an all time low, feeling stuck in a toxic and unhealthy relationship. All around her were friends getting married and buying houses together and she couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe it just wasn’t going to happen for her like it had for so many of her friends. She had convinced herself that she would always feel anxious around men, that she was hard to love and that she was unworthy of a loving relationship.

In 2016, I started working with Lauren and took her through the 3 month Get Ready for Love 121 coaching programme and I witnessed her grow and transform and open up to love in the most beautiful way. Over the course of the sessions, Lauren’s confidence started to grow, she started to get to know herself (and actually quite like herself!) and over time, she became available to the loving and secure relationship that she now knew that she deserved.

Cut to today and she has just returned from the most magical wedding in Devon where she married her best friend, surrounded by the people she loves most in the world.

Lauren’s story is such a wonderful example of someone who turned her love life around. It wasn’t easy and she faced a lot of fears along the way but she had the courage and the willingness to learn and grow and do the work and that was key to her transformation.

If Lauren’s story resonates with you and if you too dream of being in a loving and secure relationship then know that you can make that dream come true. Don’t give up on that dream or leave it up to fate or chance. With courage and the willingness to learn and grow, you too can change the course of your love life, just like Lauren did. I am so passionate about working with clients on the journey of getting ready for love and I can’t wait to hear from you if you are ready for that journey too!

If you would like to be one of the four new clients I am taking on this summer on my 3 month love coaching programme then head on over here to check out the programme. If it sounds like just what you need, then fill in the form to book in a discovery call with me - I have put aside time in my diary to talk to you next week (w/c 24th June).

I hope you enjoy the podcast!

Becoming a Brave New Girl | interview with Chloe Brotheridge

This week on the podcast Vicki interviewed Chloe Brotheridge, a clinical hypnotherapist and coach, anxiety expert, author of the bestselling and bloody brilliant, The Anxiety Solution and now the author of her brand new book, Brave New Girl (which is equally as brilliant!)

This book is so so good, like one big pep talk to encourage us all to be brave, step outside of our comfort zones and go after our dreams, while also being wrapped up in so much love and compassion. It was a joy to read and it’s jam packed full of powerful tools and techniques to help you to end people pleasing, discover the power of ‘no’ and become your most confident self.

The Kindness Method - interview with Shahroo Izadi

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on Apple Podcast (iTunes) and Spotify.

Join Selina this week as she dives deep into conversation with Shahroo Izadi, author of the amazing ‘Kindess Method’ - the book that is taking the world by storm. Shahroo is a behavioural change specialist who has developed the ‘Kindness Method’ as a way to help people bring about long-lasting change in their lives, from overcoming addictions to alcohol, drugs, food, negative self-talk…you name it.

Shahroo is living proof that her method works – after years of yo-yo dieting she shed over 8 stone (and has kept it off ever since).

PODCAST - Intuitive Living - interview with Pandora Paloma

This week on the podcast Selina interviewed Pandora Paloma, Intuitive Living Coach, Founder of ROOTED LIVING and author of her brand new book ‘Intuitive Living: 6 weeks to self-love, intuitive eating & reclaiming your mind-body connection’

It is SUCH a good book. So beautifully written - smart, wise, loving, just like Pandora 😍 and with seriously powerful exercises inside.

In this episode Selina and Pandora dive deep into the topic of intuitive living and eating, how to tap into your intuition (liking yourself is key), why self-love really IS at the heart of it all and why Pandora now chooses body neutrality over body love.
