EP 100: Real Love Story interview with Nina

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hello lovely 👋, it’s Vicki here, with a gorgeous real love story podcast for you 💖

Today’s episode (recorded in Feb) is an interview with Nina, who I met back in 2014 when we were launching the pilot for the Get Ready for Love course.

Nina was one of the 14 women who Selina and I wrote a Valentine’s Day card to, to invite them onto the journey of getting ready for love. In the episode, Nina shares the key milestones from her own Get Ready for Love journey and the valuable lessons she’s learnt along the way.

This is such a beautiful love story, not only because Nina shares her story about her partner Adam, but also her own self-love journey and I can’t wait for you to listen to it!

And if you are also wanting to go on your own Get Ready for Love journey then I am currently offering a discount on my 121 coaching programme, where all coaching sessions will be hosted via Zoom while we are self-isolating.

It may be that you’re thinking this could be a strange time to begin the dating journey, but with more people staying at home, dating apps are seeing a rise in usage – with messages, telephone calls and FaceTime. I’ve been having some great conversations with my existing clients about this and many of them are really enjoying dating virtually and actually finding this to be much more relaxed. You may not feel in the right headspace to date at all, and this won’t suit everyone, but if you are wanting to stay connected, then give telephone / FaceTime dating a try! 🙌

The Get Ready for Love programme that I offer is focused on creating the right conditions for a happy and fulfilling relationship, starting with yourself, and so it’s a process of self-love and self-development as much as a dating journey. If you’d like to join me on this journey of transformation, then I would LOVE to hear from you. Get in touch at Vicki@loveprojectlove.com or alternatively, head over toloveprojectlove.com/lovecoaching where you’ll find all the details.

I hope you enjoy the episode 💕💕💕

Lots of love, Vicki xxx

EP 99: The power of coming together with Gemma Brady, founder of Sister Stories

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely,

With everything that is going on in the world and in each of our lives at the moment, we wanted to give you an episode this week that inspires you, nourishes you and reminds you of the power of coming together in times like these.

And so I invited the wonderful Gemma Brady, founder of Sister Stories, onto the podcast to talk about exactly that: the deep and cathartic power of being heard and the beauty and magic that comes with holding a space as someone shares their truth. And how to create that space for you and your friends or with strangers.

And there can be no better time or greater need for this kind of deep mutual support than now.

So we talked about how to create circles like this, how to do it online and why we all have a deep need for this kind of ritual and deep connection and how simple it can actually be to create the space for that.

So I hope you find this episode nourishing, reassuring and inspiring. I certainly did as I was recording the episode on Monday evening.

And if you want to have a go at running your own sister circle now (online) or in the future, then here is the free download guide from Gemma on how to do it.

And if you’re interested in the online training to become a Sister Stories facilitator that starts in April, you can find full details over here.

EP 97: Hormonal health, periods and living and working in the Flo with Alisa Vitti

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely, it’s Vicki here!

I am so EXCITED for you to listen to today’s episode as I got to interview one of my hero’s, Alisa Vitti.

Alisa is a women's hormone and functional nutrition expert and pioneer in female biohacking.

She is the best selling author of WomanCode, and creator of the Cycle Syncing Method® – a female-centric diet and lifestyle program that leverages hormonal patterns for optimal health, fitness and productivity. Her brilliant TED talk ‘Loving your lady parts as a path to success, power & global change’ has been watched over a million times (which you can watch here).

As the founder of FLOLiving.com, she has built the world's first menstrual healthcare platform that helps women around the world put their period issues like PCOS, Fibroids, Endometriosis, and PMS into remission naturally using her highly effective FLO Protocol and the FLO Balance Supplements.

Alisa is also the creator of the MyFLO period app - the first and only functional medicine period tracker designed to help users eliminate symptoms and schedule their lives according to their cycles. It is consistently ranked in the top 10 of paid apps in the health and fitness category on iTunes.

In this episode we talk about:

  • The menstrual cycle and how we can leverage our hormonal patterns for optimal health, fitness and productivity

  • Biohacking like a woman - with the infradian rhythm (this was SO fascinating!)

  • How to manage our energy, rather than our time - the key to getting more done with less stress (yes please!)

  • Periods, what causes PMS and how to live and work in alignment with your body and cycle

  • Cycle-syncing with food to reduce hormonal imbalances

  • How to thrive by listening to the wisdom of your body

  • And so much more!

I’ve been following Alisa’s work for many years now and have been wanting to get her onto the podcast for ages and so I am sooooo excited for you to listen to this brilliant conversation!

I hope you enjoy the episode 💕💕💕

Love, Vicki X

PS. This was recorded with the best wifi but there is a slight sound lag in parts. I hope you’ll agree that it doesn’t take away from this powerful conversation.

EP 96: How to work smart, stretch time and make things easier for yourself - with Jo Gifford

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely,

It’s Selina here today 👋with an energising episode all about how to work smart, stretch time (yep!) and manage your energy so that you can thrive in life.

And there is no better person to have that conversation with than Jo Gifford - the queen of working smarter, not harder. Jo has been a huge source of inspiration to me, particularly when I first became a mum and was juggling that new and exciting (but time and energy consuming) role, while running not one, but two businesses at the same time.

Jo has been successfully running her own business for over 10 years while managing chronic illness and parenting twins. She recently wrote her second book - Brilliance Unboxed (out in March) - while working on two huge projects.

So whenever I find myself with an impossible deadline or overloaded plate, I ask myself: ‘What would Jo do? How can I find the easiest way to do this?’

And it always works.

I LOVED having this conversation with Jo. We both ended it buzzing and grinning from ear to ear. So I hope it leaves you feeling inspired and energised too.

Lots of love,

Selina

P.S. If you’re feeling stuck and fed up in your career, desperate to make a change and would love to have me by your side as your personal career change coach, then email me at hello@loveprojectlove.com and we can jump on a discovery call. I’m opening up a few spots on my coaching programme this spring and YOU are the first to hear, so let me know if you’re interested!

EP 95: 28 Days of Love - lessons learnt from the self-love challenge so far!

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely,

We are just under a week into our self love challenge - 28 Days of Love (it’s free to join!) and in this episode we talk about the lessons we’ve learnt so far in taking on this delicious challenge and how different it feels to when we did it last year.

Self-love is after all a practice. No matter how bad you might feel at loving yourself right now, it IS something that you can learn to do and something that you can learn to get really good at. We are proof! Year on year this challenge has become easier and easier for both of us. And in the early days we had so much resistance to it at the start. Even last year!

So join us for an episode where we dive deep into the topic of self-love as a practice and the lessons we have learnt over the years that have helped us to get good at loving ourselves with ease.

And if you haven’t yet started 28 Days of Love (our free self-love challenge) and you would like to then head over here and download your free PDF guide to getting started (plus you’ll also find a big list of ideas to get you started on your self love journey). And why not get a friend involved too (you can begin any time you like!)

EP: 94: Dating, intimacy and sexual compatibility with Asa Baav

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely, it’s Vicki here - I hope you’re well!

I’m so excited for you to listen to this week’s podcast episode as I got to interview Matchmaker and sex consultant, Asa Baav.

Asa is the founder of Tailor Matched – an offline dating consultancy in London for the wild at heart, which matches you on sexual compatibility (as well as overall compatibility).

I first met Asa last year when she invited me onto the panel of a dating event she was hosting. I was really drawn to her mission of wanting to normalise the conversation around sex and to remove the taboo around sexual compatibility. In this episode, we talk about:

  • Asa’s own journey to sexual liberation and lessons she learnt along the way

  • How she came to be a Matchmaker and how it’s transformed her life

  • Intimacy and why sexual compatibility matters

  • How to have conversations about sexual desires

  • How to approach online dating in a way that facilitates connection

  • Sex education, porn, orgasms and so much more!

This was such a fascinating conversation and I can’t wait for you to listen to it!

And before you do, I wanted to let you know that I have two spots left on my 3 month love coaching programme, Get Ready for Love. This coaching programme is my absolute heart and soul and it would be such an honour to work with you if you’re feeling the call to work with me 1:1 this year. I have two spots left. If you’d like one of those spots to be yours then head on over here to find out more and book your discovery call!

And finally… come and join us for 28 Days of Love - starting tomorrow 14th Feb! It's our self-love challenge that that gets you into a daily habit of doing one loving thing for yourself each and every day (and it's free!). Head on over to here to find out how to do it and join us over on IG where we'll be sharing self-love tips and sharing YOUR daily acts of love. Tag us @loveprojectlove when you post yours on IG stories and we'll share them with the rest of the Project Love IG family!

I hope you enjoy the episode 💕💕💕

EP 93: Navigating a world of microaggressions and hidden racism with Nova Reid

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Dear Listener,

I’ve got Nova Reid back on the podcast this week diving deep into the topic of anti-racism.

Nova is an anti-racism campaigner, diversity consultant, TEDX speaker,  writer, director of the documentary ‘Other’ and creator of the amazing ‘Anti-racism and White Privilege course’. She runs diversity and anti-racism training and workshops for companies that want to proactively address systemic racism and create a safe space for people of every colour to work in. Her anti-racism online course has honestly changed my life. And she recently did an incredibly powerful and courageous TED Talk on microaggressions and how to use white privilege to dismantle racism.

Nova and I recorded an episode on racism about eight months ago. It was incredibly powerful. And if you are white and new to the topic of systemic racism and white privilege, then I really encourage you to listen to our first episode that we did back in the summer. It will help you to understand why this conversation can be so triggering and how to breathe through it and simply listen.

The reason we came back to talk more about anti-racism is because we need to keep talking about it and because we wanted to dive into the all important  topic of microaggressions - the little things white people (often the well-meaning, kind-hearted white people) do that make black and brown people feel immediately ‘othered’.

So in this episode we talk about:

  • What microaggressions are and Nova shares the impact of being on the receiving end of them

  • What white people can do to become aware of the daily microaggressions that are happening around them and how to catch their own micro aggression moments.

  • What black and brown people can do when they are on the receiving end of a micro-aggression

  • How white people can proactively create a safe space (at work and at home, among friends and family) where microaggressions can be talked about, acknowledged

  • And the simple but incredibly powerful act of white people saying ‘sorry’ when it happens

This is an incredibly important conversation that we need to keep having. It’s not always an easy conversation for anyone to have, so thank you for listening and being a part of it. We’ll be carrying on the conversation over on instagram @loveprojectlove and @novareid.

And for more from Nova, head on over to https://novareid.com/, follow her on @novareid on instagram and sign up to her White Privilege course. Be part of the change. You’ll never regret it.

X Selina

EP 92: Change doesn’t have to be as scary as you think

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely!

Over on the podcast today, we explore the topic of change and why it doesn’t have to be as scary as you may think.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • The mindset around big change

  • How to manage fears on the journey of change and transformation (so that they don’t get in your way or prevent you from taking action)

  • The importance of self-care in building resilience when you are making a change in life

  • How to give yourself permission to make a big change as easily and as safely as possible

  • Treating change as an opportunity to explore, experiment and play!

Creating change for yourself doesn’t always have to be a terrifying leap into the unknown. Change can be about seeing the journey ahead as a series of stepping stones and taking the necessary steps, one at a time, to expand your comfort zone and keep moving forward. It’s about finding the pace that’s right for you!

It can be a challenging time, but also filled with fun and play as you explore and discover what changes you want to make. There is always growth in this process – and what a beautiful process it can be.

There is nothing that we love more than guiding and supporting people on that journey of change and transformation and we could not be more excited to announce that the doors to our coaching programmes are now open for 2020!

⭐️ If you are wanting to make this the year that you make a big career change then come and find out about Selina’s coaching programmes over here.

⭐️ And if you are wanting to make this the year that you transform your love and dating life then come and find out about Vicki’s Get Ready for Love coaching programme over here.

Both of our programmes are now open for new clients and we can’t wait to see who will join us on these magical adventures! ✨✨✨

We hope you enjoy this episode.

Love always,

X Selina & Vicki

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hi lovely,

It’s Selina here 👋 and I am so excited to be sharing today’s episode with you because I got to dive deep into conversation with a woman that I love: Tamu Thomas, founder of Three Sixty.

If you haven’t come across Tamu before then you are in for a treat. She is one of the wisest women I know, the queen of self-care wisdom and she is rapidly becoming known as Dr Joy by all that know her and get to work with her.

Tamu worked tirelessly as a social worker for many years until her own breakdown lead to a breakthrough that set her on the path that she is on today: helping women (particularly Gen X women) to go from surviving to thriving so that they are living from a place of every day joy.

Today she runs magical one-to-one coaching programmes, her incredible ‘Every Day’ membership programme (I’ve been one of the guests and the community is gorgeous), her retreats (which are legendary) - her next one-day retreat is 21st March - and she has a podcast and a vibrant instagram community @livethreesixty

Get more Tamu in your life. You will not regret it! Starting with this episode :)

Join us as we talk about joy, burn out, real self care, living 360 degrees, motherhood without martyrdom and a whole lot more.

Tamu’s lyrical way of speaking is like a soothing and hypnotic balm, so get ready to flow amongst her dulcet tones and wisdom...and en-JOY.

Ep 88: Finding your truth and embracing your calling - with Jessica Huie

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hello lovely,

It’s Selina here today and I have the most delicious and magical interview for you. I was lucky enough to spend time with Jessica Huie MBE, author of Purpose - find your truth and embrace your calling, published by Hay House.

I read the book a few months back and it blew me away. I wouldn’t say it was a book so much as a transformational experience. I recommend buying the book AND the audiobook so that you can hear Jessica tell her story in her own voice. It’s mesmerising.

If you’ve never come across Jessica before then I’m so delighted to be able to introduce you to her. Her story is awe inspiring. Today she is an entrepreneur who was awarded an MBE, by the Queen, in 2014 for her contributions to entrepreneurship and a positive influence on the community.

That in itself is impressive, but even more so when you find out that at 15 she was expelled from school with 4 GCSEs and at seventeen became a single mum living alone in a council flat.

From there she rose up and ended up enjoying a glittering career as a journalist and publicist and has worked with some of the world’s biggest stars and business people.

Then in 2006 she launched Color Blind Cards, a multi-award winning multicultural greeting card company which drove an early conversation around the importance of ethnic representation in retail and became the first independent brand to secure a high-street presence for black cards in the UK.

Nowadays she is found busy writing and running workshops and retreats from London to Jamaica. Workshops and retreats which must be every bit as magical as her.

So I hope you enjoy this episode as much I enjoyed recording it.

I gushed so much at the start of the recording about how amazing I thought the book was that it brought Jessica to tears! I hope you are moved by it too.

 X Selina

Ep 87: Stepping into a new decade…

🎧 You can also listen to this and all of our other podcasts on iTunes), Spotify or wherever you enjoy listening to your podcasts

Hello lovely,

Selina here, you may have heard me talking recently, on the Project Love podcast and IG stories, about stepping out of my 30s and into my 40s. I wanted to use it as an opportunity to really reflect on the last decade of my life and step into my 40s feeling excited and empowered.

However, I’ll be honest, at first I didn’t feel at all excited about stepping into my 40s, quite the opposite. And so I decided to create a ‘Goodbye 30s Hello 40s’ process for myself. Much like the Goodbye 2019, Hello 2020 journal. But with 10 years of reflecting.

And wow, was it a powerful process.

Photo body of text.jpg

I have now stepped fully into my 40s exactly as I had wanted to - feeling full of excitement, fully in my power and ready for a new decade and a new age.

And of course, it’s not only me that is saying farewell to one decade and stepping into a new one, because as this year comes to an end, we are ALL doing it.

And so Vicki and I wanted to dedicate this episode to sharing this process of saying farewell to one decade and stepping into a new one with love and intention, so that you can do it too.

You’ll also hear about the ritual weekend I designed with Tiu de Haan where I went with four of my girlfriends (including Vicki) to a cabin in the woods and spent the weekend doing beautiful rituals, culminating in one where I made promises to myself as I stepped in my 40s with my four friends as my witnesses.

I literally can’t think of a better way to celebrate stepping into my fourth decade! It was so beautiful and life affirming.

So grab a pen and paper and hit play and let’s start your own process of waving goodbye to one decade with love and gratitude and stepping into this next one feeling the way you want to feel 😍

X Selina
